It becomes a hit . 1999 – The Lost Years 1998 - Rick compiles his plays including Latinologues, A Quiet Love into a book titled “Pain of the Macho”, released by Arte Publico Press 1997 - Latinologues plays second Stage at South Coast Rep with Yareli Arizmendi, Jacob Vargas, Maria Costa 1996 – Rick Najera, Jacob Vargas and Maria Costa perform Latinologues monologues written by Rick Najera at the famous Hollywood Improv 1995 – Rick Najera writes more monologues and creates a compilation of monologues based on Latino life in America 1994 – In the Beginning… Latinologues begins as a protest of Proposition 187 the anti-illegal alien bill denying basic services and healthcare rights.
